What are continuous feed labels?

Continuous feed labels are specialist labels for continuous printers. These are labels that run on a long strip (usually in a roll or folded over) and can come in different sizes. Software is available so that your printer is able to print on these sheets and then the strips have a separation point where each label can easily be detached.

Continuous feed labels products & brands

There are three brands selling clearly differentiated continuous labels:

Avery continuous labels produce for word processor labels and dot-matrix printer labels. They offer a 100% money back guarantee on all of their labels, which shows their confidence in what they have available:

Dot Matrix Labels are special adhesives designed to cope with higher performance demands of microcomputer printers. These labels also have the software available for the printing position directly from the Avery website and this can be downloaded for free.

Web Computer Labels are for large mainframe printers. They fan fold over in a nice stack for ease of storage. These are available in formats of 1-3 depending on how many you require for the web.

Word processing Labels for type writers and are available with automatic cut sheet feeder. The adhesive labels with software allow your digital typewriters to print directly on to the label sheet with high accuracy.

The other two brands offer continuous rolls for thermal label printers. These are usually smaller rolls that are used for the branded item only:

Brother offer white continuous film roll for their Thermal QL printer series. This Brother thermal roll can be used for general labeling at various lengths, depending on how long you want the label to last for.

Then we have Dymo multipurpose labels.

These are adhesive labels that are available for the Thermo Dymo Label Writer series. These are used for things like barcodes and small labels that need to be stuck on products or surfaces.

Do you have a hand held label maker that prints on to small labels that are removable/peelable without leaving a residue on the items they are stuck on to. I would like to label the spines of books and then be able to remove the labels at a later date without leaving any trace.

This can be used in conjunction with removable continuous label feed roll (product code: 668158); the Avery Labels for Labelling Gun 1-Line Removable White 12x26mm 1500 per Roll Ref WR1226 [Pack 10].
