Legal Pads are produced in only a small number of sizes with the most popular and widely used being the A4 legal pad and Foolscap legal pad sizes, these pads are generally feint ruled with some being produced in yellow paper as it was thought in times gone by that the colour yellow stimulated thought.

The legal pad group of products also includes forms and pads that are designed and pre-printed for the following uses Share Certificates, Transfer Authority, Survey & Engineering Paper Double Bills, Letters Received, Will Forms and Personnel wallets.

There is only one primary method of binding used in Legal Pad Notebooks and Legal Notepads with this being casebinding, casebound notebooks & pads are exceptionally durable with a strong stitched and glue bonded seam that the paper is attached to. Notebooks and pads are typically either headbound or sidebound.

As this binding method of bonding paper to the pad or book is so strong many notebooks or notepads would have perforated sheets that would allow the user to remove an individual sheet with ease.
