There are specialist stamps that are used only as date stamps, number stamps and word stamps and there are also some multifunction stamps that will print all of these characters.
Date stamps are used for applying the date to official documents such as invoices and receipts. Some of the products are self inking date stamps and others are rubber date stamps that need dabbing onto an ink pad. Self inking date stamps are the slightly more expensive variety but only by a few pounds and are probably worth the expense as you will save in time and effort as well as money on the ink pad. Some of the self inking type such as the Colop date stamps come with a 12 year guarantee on the self ink supply.
Number stamps are used for applying numbers to pieces of paper so that you can keep track of them in an organised way - they may help you to reference documents relating to an individual customer or order number. Again we have self inking number stamps and also the manual ones that you have to dab onto an ink pad yourself.
Word stamps come with a range of pre-determined messages, such as paid, confirmed, confidential, draft or first class and are often, pre-inked (self inking) and some are refillable. The Trodat word stamps come with up to 12 pre-set words and can cope with multiple colours of ink (usually two) so that you can give different meanings to different colour stamps.
