Rubber bands
With literally hundreds of uses for elastic rubber bands it is no surprise that they are to be found in most schools, offices and homes around the world. Whether it’s for transporting files, DIY, magic tricks or just flicking paper around classroom or office the rubber band is a hero.

The rubber band is made up of three dimensions: length, width and thickness and is sold by the weight ranging from packs of 100g rubber bands to a 454gram pack of rubber bands they are also available in natural and assorted colours.

The leading manufacturers of the rubber band are Alliance Sterling, Laufer rubber bands and 5 Star rubber bands there is certainly no shortage of choice when looking for elastic rubber bands.

One of the most fun (and useful) office products is the rubber band ball - 200 rubber bands formed into a bouncy sphere - fantastic

What does length mean in your guide to elastic bands? Is it the length of the band as if it had been cut and strectched out, or if the band is measured pressed flat, as other suppliers describe?

Hi John, When we refer to length it is the length of the rubber band if it had been folded flat. Kind Regards

I wanted to ask the same question about rubber band length - and I have to say the answer is very unclear (even allowing for the missing "as"). Is a 152 mm rubber band only 76 mm long when intact - and 152 mm long if you cut it and open it out flat? Or is the intact (uncut) rubber band 152 mm long? It's a difficult question to put and to answer - so if you could give a clear answer, I'd appreciate it! Thanks.
