As pre-election fever hots up among the party leaders, take a cold hard look at the future. We could be in line for 'painful' tax rises, says one influential think tank.
We have now seen and heard the pledges from all of the political parties involved in the forthcoming election. Pledges aside we now need to start looking at real practical measures to boost the economy and make things better for small businesses. What measures would you like to see the new government use to support small businesses in the coming year/s.

Can political parties buy the loyalty of small businesses with some pre-election rivalry? To see what the politicos were offering I did a quick scan of the General Election 2010 stories in the Telegraph in the past week.
