Up to 68 labels per minute. That’s how fast the Brother QL-570 thermal label printer can go. Well, can print. Saying ‘can go’ makes it sound like a car (although it is extremelly fast it is significantly smaller than a car).
But I digress. As label printers go 68 labels a minute is awfully fast; there must be a catch. Presumably you have to waste minutes cutting all the labels off individually, right? That kind of fiddly job where you might nick a corner or slice off part of an customer’s address – especially if you’re rushing to meet the post. Well, no. You see, the QL-570 thermal label printer also comes with an automatic cutter, so you needn’t have to worry about digging through your desk drawer for your scissors.
(Though, if you’re like me, digging through the drawer might be useful; you might find receipts you need to hand in for expenses or perhaps a solitary fruit-gum that, with a bit of dusting, would make a nice lunchtime snack.)
And what of installation on your computer? Are there lots of wiggly cables and ‘orribly complex bits of software to install before you can use the label printer? Not at all -- it connects to your PC or Mac via a supplied USB cable and comes complete with its software on CD. No hunting around for drivers here!
If you’re less concerned about speed and ease of installation than you are with the quality of the printing, the Brother QL-570 has you covered too. It’s a 300dpi / 720 dot printer, so your printed labels will come out looking crisp and clear (it even comes ready with two rolls). And, since it prints on labels up to 2.4” wide you can get nice and big lettering as well. Useful, since you never know how good the postman’s eyesight will be.
Imagine not using a Brother QL-570 – your package for Taunton could end up in Timbuktu. Best get printing!
