If an army marches on its stomach, an office runs on its facilities.
We all like to feel comfortable in the office. It's good to settle down at a fluff-free computer and desk with hot drinks to hand, so make sure your store cupboard is stocked with computer-cleaning supplies and your kitchen has plenty of tea and coffee for cold afternoons. Speaking of which, have plenty of boxes of tissues for people that need to sneeze.
A clean office also makes it more tolerable when you're struggling with writing a report or dealing with complicated figures, so stock up on cleaning materials and janitorial supplies. People appreciate a tidy loo where toilet roll and soap doesn't run out, for example – or the extra room heaters when the temperature drops. And we hope they thank you for it!
Here's to you, office facilities manager (doffs cap).
