Double DipThe results of the 'are we heading for double-dip recession?' poll are in. As is befitting for the national state of unease, your highest answer is a resounding maybe.

58% of respondents agreed with the statement 'We're not out of the woods yet but I'm reserving judgement.' (Note that that's two levels of uncertainty, so we really are in troubling times.) 26% of you felt the banks weren't lending enough, while a measly 16% felt the recovery was stable.

It seems that even our sense of uncertainty is tilted towards feeling morose. This is going to sound peculiar, but perhaps what would make people feel better is a clear indication either way. At least then SMEs could plan their next course of action, whether that's investing in a business to start building it up again, or cutting back to fill the war chest for tougher times.
