I do try and buy green products when I can, however sometimes, like with paper, I am not sure of the quality. I bought some Euroffice paper, which I thought was very good quality, and some green paper, Evolve I think. The Evolve paper was a little yellowy? Anyone else found this?

Hi Mollie - never tried Evolve paper before, I do agree with you however that the Euroffice paper for its price is of very good quality. I used to buy the 5 star brand which is also good. I thought I'd try out the Euroffice brand as it was cheaper and I found that the quality was similar if not a little better so since then I've just stuck to it

Hi Mollie, Thanks for your response. It is great to know that you are happy with the quality of Euroffice Paper. This is available in single realm (product code: 01119X) or a box of 5 realms (product code: 01100X) and is very competitively priced. There are also a number of environmental credentials against our printer paper; the wood is procured under ISO 14001 - meaning from sustainable forests that are Forestry Standards Commission accredited, and is also produced using only 105 KWh of energy for each tonne of finished product. Thanks also for your comments on the Evolve Paper, this shouldn't appear yellow at all. The Commission Internationale de l'Eclairage (CIE) - the International Commission of Illumination are the organization responsible for setting the world-wide colour measurement standards in paper. Just to clarify, the CIE levels (how white the paper is) of Evolve Printer Paper Premium Recyled Ream-Wrapped 80gsm A4 White (product code: 507990) has the same high quality 150 level as our own branded Euroffice paper and the other Evolve Printer Paper Premium Recyled Ream-Wrapped 80gsm A4 White (product code 508007) has a higher CIE value of 160. Please let us know if you would like any further information on our paper products and we will gladly assist.

I have tried the greener papers but the quality is nowhere near good enough for the printing we do. We do recycle all our waste paper and keep trying new products when they come out but end up using them for scrap paper of invoices.

I bought some suspension files a considerable time ago and purchased some more recently. The new ones were definitely greener; a dark green as opposed to a light green.

Hi Medusa, I trust you picked this item for its greener credentials! Which ones do you prefer? On a serious note though, our popular selling 5 Star suspension files (product code 296913) are made from 90% recycled material!

I don't feel like it would make too much of a difference what I purchase as I feel it is mostly the same. I tend to worry about how I can be green with the product afterwards, like recycling. Maybe it's not the right attitude to take!

Agree with Andrew. Does it make too much of a difference what I purchase. It depends on the way you look at the words Greener environment. I feel you buy normal paper or buy recycled paper is almost the same effect on environment (sure little different.) What i do is reuse the paper i have bought. eg the prnt where only two lines are printed & its going to go in bin then I use the other side of the paper. And when work is done from that and its going in bin maybe use it as book makr/ craft / paper bags ..... I know this wont work much in business envt. but we can do little of our own bit.

As a consumer, you are 100% right Mani and Andrew, and that is a fantastic way of using and re-using the paper. However, by purchasing products with greener credentials, it is an acknowledgement on your part of the efforts the manufacturer has taken to make the production of the product as green as possible. For example, our Euroffice paper is manufactured from sustainable forests and produced using measurable low energy output. So whilst, this may not be immediately apparent to the consumer, for a manufacturer, it is worth showing these credentials. Local authorities need to encourage business recycling. An example I can think of where this wasn't the case was when I worked in a late nite bar and used to fill two huge trade bins every day with glass bottles on weekday nights, and 4-5 trade bins on a saturday. This went straight into a landfill site and was not recycled, the local authorities made no provisions for businesses to recycle but would penalise their local residents by moving their household waste collections from weekly to fortnightly collections to enforce recycling.

I really try, its got to a point now where I actually feel guilty for not recycling something or buying the greener option, but if the cost is a lot more then I can usually let myself off.

I do try but it all depends on the price. We recycle paper and try to do our bect for the environmental :)
