Some people view their pens simply as functional tools to be used for the simple task of writing, but I think most of the nation [correct me if I’m wrong] have their favourites and secretly adore their pen. Have a look around and see what kind of pen the people around you are using.

Before you do, have a guess at what % of your office is using a simple office biro and then check some of your colleagues and see if you were right.

Rollerball pensIn our office I was quite surprised to see the number of rollerball pens, ball point pens and even some high quality executive pens.

Being an office supplies company we may be unique – but I have a feeling that we are not!

I usually do a little bulk order for my colleagues to introduce them into my world of pens, and I do make good choices for them. To me I think the best in the market for everyday use is the Uni-ball rollerball pen,

Rubber grip is nice, but “coolness” comes first. I leave my snazzy Parker collection at home, more to admire than actually use.

But work means disposable so I always tend to stick to gel rollerball pens, as I like the way they glide onto the page. Why does everyone seem to buy certain brands, are they just stationery geeks like me, or did someone order it for them?

Why do you buy the things that you do, are you just as style conscious with stationery as you are with clothes? - let us know

When I was at school I always wrote with a fountain pen, not only was it great for flicking ink around the class but it allowed me to produce neat looking work! These days I favor the rollerball type of pens!

I definitely agree with Andrew about fountain pens! They make you feel very professional... but I have to say my tastes are slightly less fancy. I just love the BiC 4-Colour Ball Pen! Its all about the colours! I mean, really, four colours in one pen, what more could you ask for?

Haha, i was a past master at flicking inks on the backs of pupils shirts! Another good one was to get the ink cartridge and put it across a strimmer, then as you strim the pressure from cartridge built up and blew the ink everywhere.Needless to say my kids will be taking rollerballs to school......

My pen has been the classic BIC pen for over a decade. I don't think you can perfect the basic, yet effective ink tool that I have been using though my academic and working period. When I was in college I started using this pen to draw (just about remember my college days) and since then I have refused to draw with pencils. No ink smudges. No additional marks. Just pure perfection and accuracy like this pen is part of my hand. It's perfectly clear that we are one.

I have always been very picky with pens. No so much for writing, but actually for drawing stuff. When i was in school that's all I ever did. The thing about drawing in pen was I knew i could not rub it out after so I always had to get it perfect the first time round. Using a fountain pen was a luxury, it was always good old ball point. Most of the time Bic, I found them to be the best.

All the other pens just look good, especially the Parker pens. Bic any be cheap, but is effective in terms of it's grip and stroke when using it against paper.
